Some people want a barbecue. This client wanted a command centre — functional, robust, built to house a very specific set of cooking gear.

A few design rounds and visualisations later, we landed on a run of cooking platforms and storage, anchored by a large in-situ concrete plinth that deliberately contrasts the exposed aggregate of the living area next door. Sliding cedar doors tie it back to the house's materiality, and lock everything up tight for the months they're overseas
