Ninety-nine on R.

A modern, light filled, extension attached to the rear of a traditional Petone Bungalow.

The site's narrow, so we stripped back the old lean-to that ran the full width of the house. The new living space runs along the southern boundary instead — respectful of the neighbours, but built to capture the north. The result: a long, light-filled living area that opens straight onto the northern yard.

From the street, the bungalow looks untouched — refurbished, true to itself. Step inside, though, and the story shifts. Old gives way to new. A carefully detailed threshold ties the two together, each holding its own character.
