A picturesque two-storey villa, reworked for modern living.

The brief was straightforward: refurbish the original home, keep its character, and fix that brutally steep staircase. The house had lost its connection to the rear yard and the north-facing light, so we reprogrammed the entire ground floor — turning the staircase into the centrepiece of the living space, all within the existing footprint.

Careful material choices and a sharp eye on scale give the house the flexibility modern living demands, without losing an ounce of its original charm.
